Delegation Of Chinese Companies Called On The Federal Minister

FEDERAL MINISTER FOR INDUSTRIES & PRODUCTION GHULAM MURTAZA KHAN JATOI DISCUSSES VARIOUS INVESTMENTS WITH DELEGATION OF CHINESE COMPANIES.

A diverse delegation of Chinese companies called on the Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi at his office in Islamabad today. The delegation consisted of the International Council for Promotion of Multinational Corporation with companies related to the engineering, estate, investment, solar power and logistics sector. The Minister warmly welcomed the delegates from China and assured all possible assistance and facilitation on behalf of the Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.
The delegation had come to Pakistan to gauge the market potential and assess the viability of establishing an “Electronics Industrial Park” which would house over 100 different production facilities from various companies in one location. Production of solar power generation equipment would be a prime focus. The Minister for Industries & Production assured that such new technology ventures would get tax incentives and facilitation by the Industrial Parks along the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and across the country.
Mr. Jatoi highlighted that the National Industrial Park Company, which is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, has developed the Korangi Industrial Park& Bin Qasim Industrial Park in Karachi. These are very important entities due to their significant location that can accommodate such requests from foreign investors. The Minister quoted that Yamaha is one such company that have used the facilities of industrial parks efficaciously. The delegation said that they would try to give various options of financial support to Pakistani and Chinese companies so that infrastructure and production can be streamlined and effectively developed. The Minister said that if the current special economic zones (SEZs) are feasible then the Ministry could arrange land for the investors in these zones.
The honorable Minister stressed that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor will provide logistics network to implement such projects conveniently and transfer technology & equipment efficiently. He added that all investment offers would be entertained in accordance with the Government’s investment policies. Mr. Jatoi said that Pakistan and China have a long journey to travel together and such initiatives are steps taken on the road to prosperity for both countries. He expressed that the Pakistani people would be looking forward to such investment proposals, as it would boost the country’s economy and brings benefits to the people. Mr. Jatoi warmly welcomed the proposals by the delegation and said that such initiatives would further enhance the Pakistan China Friendship to a new level.
